Gevone Alexandria (born September 7, 1985) is an American Visual Artist based in New York City, she begin drawing her favorite cartoons as a child. Creating many collages and large scale drawings of them. determined o teach herself she emerged herself into everything Art even making her own art supplies. often drawing family & friends she fell in love with portraiture. which reminds to this day. while in elementary school she was encouraged by her art teacher to go to a specialized Art High School. She attended James Monroe High School for Visual Art & Design.
determined to learn more on her own. she taught her self painting, linocut (block Printings), knit, crochet, sculpting, paper-making, cold process soap making and the list goes on. Known for her naturalistic depictions of African American figures. she creates images that celebrate black culture. As a life long Art enthusiast she has a deep passion for learning about Art in addition to creating it. After high school she Majored in Fine Art. Studying photography, Drawing, Painting, Art history Etc..

Not satisfied with the limited black representation, she begin immersing herself into the vast Art world learning about Artist like Jacob Lawrence, Charles White & Kerry James Marshall Etc.Determined to change the narrative she centers her Art practices around creating diverse images with the focus being of black culture. she undefined Art style has lead her work to be very diverse & unique.
